Bio:

Established in 2015 as “Fairborn Against Heroin,” the agency was formed by community action due to the heroin epidemic in Ohio, to spread awareness and connect citizens to treatment services for substance use disorders in the area of Greene County. In 2016 the agency reorganized and incorporated adding a dba name of “FAH Recovery” to better reflect the broader scope of services being provided through the agency. The Board of Directors, leadership team and staff of the agency undertook a rebranding effort to establish an identity for the agency which better reflected the services and values of the organization. After much consideration and discussion within the board, with FAH members, community leaders, and the community as a whole, it has been our determination that the most pressing need for Fairborn and the surrounding area is a physical location where one can find peer support and have easy access to information and resources to suit their individual needs. Our agency has since acted on that determination and established RecoveryPlus Community Resource Center in late 2017as a dba of FAH. We have a great location for this center that is easily accessible by members of the community adjacent to downtown and directly on the public transit line. RecoveryPlus was created to reflect our presence as a drop-incenter and becoming the general offices of Fairborn Against Heroin’s Board of Directors and general staff. With an impact of servicing more than 10,000 people a year, Fairborn Against Heroin is making a difference in our community and growing at a rapid rate, doubling the persons served year after year since its inception in 2017.We are open to suggestions on any other services or activities that can benefit the community. Fairborn Against Heroin is a nonprofit corporation [501(C)(3)] within the state of Ohio to connect citizens to behavioral health services in proximity to Greene County. As a nonprofit corporation, Fairborn Against Heroin is governed by a Board of Directors as established in the corporate bylaws. Funding for the agency comes from a variety of sources including private fundraising, with hope of gaining contracts with; the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Clark, Greene and Madison Counties, Job and Family Services, Children’s Services Board, United Way of Greater Dayton, Juvenile Court, Court of Common Pleas, Federal and State grants, private insurance and private pay. The rapidly changing landscape of behavioral healthcare services within the state of Ohio has, and continues, to pose unique challenges to the field. We believe our organization and services fill gaps in current treatment models, engages clients in the recovery process at point of contact, serves all persons negatively impacted by addiction with integrity, respect, and the urgency indicative of a local and national opioid crisis, and the drug epidemic as a whole.
